One of our favourite brands, Armor Lux, has quite a history and is known for it’s strong nautical heritage style, quality of fabrication and a brand with strong social and eco ethics. Their garments last for years, look great and have a keen following from our regular customers.
Established in France in 1938 as a hosiery company, it reinvented itself in 1947 post war Brittany as Armor Lux (Armor: the sea, Lux: light). The brand dressed seafarers with clothes from the Breton seafaring and workwear wardrobe, kabig coats, worker jackets, sweats, knits, jerseys and of course Breton stripes. This aesthetic runs through the collections to this day.
Armor Lux has built a reputation on it’s strong values, quality, innovation, social cohesion and ethics. All yarns are expertly produced in their own factories in France and are committed to promoting transparent manufacturing, eco-responsible materials and sustainable clothing. A pioneer of Fairtrade cotton, Armor Lux offers a wide range of Fairtrade certified organic cotton clothing.
All their fabrics (jersey, knits and ribs) are knitted and used in all of their garments, they are STANDARD 100 certified by OEKO-TEX, use certified GOTS organic cotton and Fairtrade. All striped fabrics are cut by hand to ensure no mismatch during the assembly process.
As a brand, the quality of clothing produced is second to none with timeless heritage designs that will look great in any wardrobe for years to come.
We love it!
